Tying the Obi for Women

After finding the center of belt, place the center below the naval and wrap the right side all the way around the body.

The long section will be on the right. Wrap this all the way around on top of  the first section. Be careful not to twist the belt.

Grasp the belt with the right hand and hold it firmly while the left hand gasps the other    end to prepare to tuck it under both layers.

Tuck the belt under both layers. Pulling it through on the left side.

Using the right hand flip the right   end of the belt one half turn.

Place the left end of the belt over the right end.

Pull the left end up through the opening. Pull out to sides on each end of the belt to create a tight, firm knot.

Finished knot.

Close up of finished knot. Opening of knot is to be on left side, opposite the opening of top of the uniform.
