Tachi -(dachi) stance

 

Keri waza (geri) - kick

shiko dachistraddle 

heisoku dachi- feet together

mae geri front kick                     

zenkutsu  dachi– forward

kake dachi- cross legged

mawashi geri roundhouse kick

neko ashi dachi - cat

seiza dachiseated

yoko geri side kick

heiko dachi - open parallel   

agura dachi - seated cross-legged

ushiro geri –back kick

Uchi waza - strikes

 

Uke waza - blocks

oi-zuki - lunge punch      

haishu uchi - back of open hand

age uke - rising

gyaku zuki - reverse punch 

morrote zuki - double strike

soto uke - hook

shuto uchi - knife hand        

seiken zuki - fist

gedan barai - low level parry

uraken uchi - back fist   

 

shuto uke - knife hand

hiji ate uchi - elbow

 

ude uke - forearm

empi uchi - elbow

 

 

Class Terminology for Bowing

 

seiretsu - line up orderly

shomen ni rei - bow to the front

sensei ni rei - bow to instructor

hata mawatte ni - turn to the flags     

hata ni rei - bow to flags

mawatte ni omote - turn to the front

mawatte ni kuro obi-turn toward the Black Belts  

 

domo arigato gozaimashita-thank you for what you have done
