Welcome New Students

Balance between warrior ways  and values of education

The first and foremost consideration is and always will be...karate.

Congratulations! You have chosen to add a new dimension to your life. You may be nervous, excited or both. This is common. We all had a first day, a first week in karate. Be assured that everyone else in class was nervous and worried about making mistakes or looking foolish. Everyone in class has already gone through EXACTLY what you are. Look around. Watch the other students. The rank they have accomplished, the ability they have, you will someday also have. They got there the same way you will. Patience, hard work, consistency. As long as you try you will continue to progress and grow. You will come to know and understand more about the concepts and expectations for a participant of karate. You will progress in the techniques of karate and you will learn more about the etiquette of karate, its history and purpose and how these add to who you are and your growth in karate.

It is important to realize that karate is not like anything else. It requires greater overall body coordination and greater concentration than almost anything else you will undertake. Karate is a combination of learning to fight, when to fight, how to fight and also, how to conduct yourself in your life in and out of class. It is not an easy task but the accomplishments achieved in the process are more than worth the time and efforts involved.

I am pleased you have decided to pursue karate with us. It is our goal to teach you all the elements necessary to be successful in this pursuit. Please feel free to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or additional interests you may have with us. In the event a problem arises it is important to communicate this with us. We cannot help if we are not made aware.

Sincerely,
